The 2024 excavation season was the first of a five-year research project called ‘Castrum’ and its associated Scheduled Monument Consent (SMC, or the permission to undertake invasive archaeological work on a protected site).
This newly published volume is the first of a series of five interim reports aimed at disseminating the discoveries of the yearly Vindolanda excavations. At the project’s conclusion, interim discussions will culminate in an assessment of the occupation of the northeastern quadrant of the 3rd- and 4th- century stone fort.
